MAREN LAVELLE
DIRECTOR

Maren is a Brooklyn based director, writer, and producer...

hailing from the Northeast. Maren is also the co-founder of NYC-based production company, One-Eyed Rabbit. A graduate of Pace University's BFA Acting Program, and an original member of the José Rivera Writer's Group, Maren began writing for the stage and, eventually, transitioned to screenwriting. Maren’s plays have premiered in various venues in NYC: Composition of a Woman (Westside Theatre, 440 Layfayette Studios), The Holding Room (The Sheen Center), Under the Brooklyn Bridge (14th St. Salon Series); as well as in Boston: Derailed on Butler (Atlantic Works Gallery). Maren wrote and directed the short films The Yard (2019) and Beyond Bone (2018).

For Maren, writing and directing are one of the most powerful forms of expression and where she feels most influential in her art. Combining the traits of a keen eye for photography, strong communication skills, experience managing a team, and a passion for story-telling, Maren has a lot to add to any project she collaborates on.

Through her production company One-Eyed Rabbit, whose mission is to “offer new perspectives through character-driven narratives to illuminate the full scope of our shared humanity”, Maren produces her own work. In 2020 Maren wrote and directed the short films Keeper and Maya.
